He was born on March 30, 1936, in Elizabethtown, IL as the son of Robert Lee and Virginia Rose Gullet Price. Bob graduated from University High School and Southern Illinois University, both in Carbondale, IL. While in high school, he was chosen to participate in the Illinois State Science Fair in Chicago.
