Critics Consensus

Brazenly strange and uneven in its execution, Lifeforce is an otherworldly sci-fi excursion punctuated with off-kilter horror flourishes.

Jonathan O Lifeforce is a different kind of sci-fi erotic bisexual vampire horror film from Tobe Hopper who terrified us from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and thrilled use from Poltergeist and is really entertaining and really great British actors including young Patrick Stewart and really epic musical score by Henry Mancini and spectacular special effects and Dan O' Bannon the writer of Alien and Dead and Buried did good ideas but some are not understanding of the film but I had a blast. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Jay H Everyone likes at least one Cannon Films production; this is the one I like. Make sure you watch the Director's Cut. It isn't great, but it is much better than the theatrical version. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Andrea C Visto al cinema e rivisto più volte in DVD. Bel film di fantascienza con trovate a volte geniali a volte un poco meno (vedi il finale).. da rivedere. In Italia è uscito con il titolo SPACE VAMPIRES.. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/24 Full Review Jim M What a Great Overlooked Sci Fi movie which hasn't aged much at all!Acting, plot, special effects, all outstanding! Enjoyed watching more than once! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Piper W Only the special effects saved this barf. Pacing was rotten, acting was rotten, story was unoriginal. Full female nudity must make this a good jerk off film for horny guys. Go watch Green Slime instead. At least it's corny sf fun.
