This has a Factory 2.0L turbo charged inline 4 ecotec engine. From the factory it puts out 250 BHP This car was upgraded by previous owner with ZZP cold air intake, ZZP up pipe and Down pipe. It has a 3 inch stainless steel catless exhaust system.
It’s loaded with bucket seats, sunroof , pioneer head with Apple play and a backup camera.it of course has power everything, interior is in great condition no rips or tears, exterior paint is also in excellent condition just the usual parking lot dings and chips from highway driving. The car runs excellent there are no check engine lights and everything works. No oil leaks or weird engine noises. Drove to Massachusetts and back to Texas in April 2024 and got 34 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg in town.
It has one issue it has started burning oil and smoking . I have done a compression test and it has good compression on all 4 cylinders and compression is within a few lbs of each other ( GM says they can vary by as much as 30 lbs these are within 2/or 3 lbs of each other. After having a look in the cylinders with an inspection camera when the plugs were removed to do compression test) the most likely culprit is carbon buildup on the intake valves allowing oil to seep in and burn. It could also be carbon stuck in the oil control ring grooves. YouTube has videos on this issue and it requires taking the intake manifold off the car and scraping the carbon build up off with dental scrapers and a shop vac to suck out the gunk you scrape off.
This is a Gas direct injection (GDI) and the early design has issues with this problem. I tried the sea foam soak but it’s still burning oil it needs a complete top end cleaning by a repair shop or if you are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself.
I can’t do the work and I’m not spending $1000-$1200 to have it done . I have 5 cars and 2 golf carts in my drive way so some of them have to go .
The car is priced at $3500.00 book value on this car is $7000 so it’s priced to allow you to have a shop fix it and still be under book. If you can do the work yourself you can have a really nice fast car for under $4000
This car has launch control and is very very quick. She still drives perfectly just smokes a fair bit. But it’s tagged and drives fine Ac blows ice cold heater blows hot. Drive it and fix it when you are ready This is a fantastic car for a diy mechanic . Car has good tires and Brembo 4 piston disc brakes up front and 2 piston disc brakes in back. I replaced front brake pads prior to April road trip so they are basically new.
Please text me Frank with questions not addressed here or to test drive the car .
This car has No Cats so WILL NOT PASS TRAVIS COUNTY EMISSIONS.. Emissions requirements have been dropped by almost every other Texas county so it’s only an issue in Travis county.
